April lunch Waterloo Arms

Lots of pic's from today Twenty seven members in attendance most of them here some where, its just they kept moving about when I pointed the camera at them. Any way nice setting, decent lunch, a little pricey for Pub Grub, but well cooked and ok for presentation. Cannot decide which ones to leave out so you will 'gettum'

U3A Christmas Lunch this year [2016] at "Le Blaireau" Brockenhurst.

A nice Venue for this years outing. 

The tables were set with shiny hats and good quality crackers most of our members finished up wearing two hats... Very Chrismassy

The food when one considers the amount to cook for was well presented and truly edible.It was also served by table which meant each table ate together, instead of one end finishing before the other end had been served.

           Good idea.

 The service was quite well when one thinks how many we were and from the experience of our table, very accommodating. The young ladies dressed very french [Apache dancers comes to mind!] 

           Thank you to our organisers and can we go again. 

 

Cowherds Pub

This time it's Tuesday Lunch club Tuesday lunch at the Cowherds Pub Southampton. Didn't really know what to expect as I think it is the first time we have actually ventured into Southampton. Any way pleasantly surprised as it turned out quite well. The rear car park was easy to get into and out of with plenty of space. It seems most patrons would rather park on the road! Parts of the place I remember from my youth but it has expanded in nearly all directions. The bar prices were "normal" and the food well cooked and in decent sized portions. It seemed no more expensive than other venues we have visited. I believe most of us enjoyed our experience and I didn't hear any grumbles [par for the coarse for me!] So some pictures--- sorta never mind the quality feel the width kind.

Brockenhurst College lunch

  Once again an excellent repast with fine service to enhance our lunch. Thanks once again to Elaine who knows how to treat all us 'bon  vivants' [sorry for the Anglo/French couldn't resist it]

Le chanteclerc. This was I think one of the nicest lunches we have had in a long time. The food was [on consensus ] excellent, the service exemplary, the price not so bad! The place itself is beginning to show its age but when one considers its other attributes which included complimentary coffee, I cannot recall a word of complaint. I do believe all of us enjoyed it today, so well done to John + Co' Dave W.
