Happy smiles at the Sir John Barleycorn

Sir John Barleycorn for Oct. 3rd. at 12.30 Booked for 20 people.
The Sir John Barleycorn at Cadnam, sits immediately below the M27 motorway, but is one of the area's oldest pubs dating back to the 12th century. Low beamed ceilings give a cosy atmosphere, and Cadnam is a major gateway to many areas of the New Forest.

September lunch

22 of us met at the Bear and Ragged Staff on the Stockbridge Road from Romsey. A good venue with a large car park and an efficient young staff who coped well with our individual orders. The meals were good only complaint there was far too much.

August lunch

The Vine Inn lunch group meeting was very successful and very cheap as the staff gave us through a benefit card 25% off the total bill. 18 of us in all and personally my meal supposed to be a lighter appetite or young diners portion was more than generous. The gammon steak was tender and the chips, egg, peas, tomato, pineapple and mushroom were excellent. The staff were young and friendly, one even volunteering to take some of the photographs.

Ower on the 8th August

Next month's lunch group will meet at the The Vine Inn Romsey Rd, Ower on the 8th.

Twentytwo of us met for today's lunch at Sir Walter Tyrell in blazing sunshine. The food was quite good and we all enjoyed the outing.
